Jefferson Parish Major Thoroughfare Plan

BKI was tasked with assisting Jefferson Parish in developing a Major Thoroughfare Plan. The Major Thoroughfare Plan provided details on roadway desing and classification criteria, costs, public review comments, and maps identifying locations for proposed future thoroughfares. Inputs to the process included the Parish's adopted Land Use Plan, a project-specific Technical Advisory Committee of parish and community experts, and a methodology based upon the Federal Highway Administration's Functional Classification System. BKI was responsible for oversight of analyses, preparation of GIS maps, data, summary documents and reports, Advisory Committee management and oversight of the Citizens Advisory Committee. Project responsibilities included review of products and work program, contract management, data development and presenting findings of review and analysis to the Parish, public and elected officials.
