Bucktown Harbor Master Plan

BKI was retained by Jefferson Parish to prepare a Master Plan for the Bucktown Harbor Marina Complex on Lake Pontchartrain in Jefferson Parish.

The complex includes a calm-water harbor for a small-craft marina along the south shoreline of Lake Pontchartrain, boat houses, restaurants, concrete rip-rap jetties and steel sheetpile bulkheads. The Master Plan includes a U.S. Coast Guard Multi-Mission Station building for the local Coast Guard detachment.  The plan also includes a 3.5-acre wetland marsh to improve environmental conditions on the lakeshore. 

As part of this project, BKI prepared and coordinated application for all State and Federal permits, including a Corps of Engineers Section 404 permit and State Department of Natural Resources and Department of Environmental Quality permits for construction of the harbor.
