BKI provides the level of effort best suited to meet the GIS development requirements for each client. Starting with a user needs analysis or data evaluation, all the way to a full blown project plan, BKI will gather and compile the information needed to develop a GIS project plan that can be used for budgeting, scheduling, requests for proposals, and long-term system planning.

Our Project Development Services include the following:

Comprehensive Project Plan - Encompasses all of the individual components and provides the most complete view of the client needs, projected expenditures, and benefits.

User Needs Analysis - BKI will sit down and interview potential users of a new system to document the data and systems currently being used, existing work processes, and most of all, what each user needs to better perform their job.

Data Evaluation - Most people have lots of data, but have no idea what they have and how it can be tied together. BKI will document existing database, GIS, CAD, and paper data sources and develop a model to tie it all together.

System Plan - The system plan defines the proposed user interface, system functions and processes, and how the system will be implemented. This document can then be used as a specification for an application developer.

Implementation Plan - This document will outline all of the steps required to build the new client system from A to Z including schedules and procedures for data collection, data conversion, system development, installation and training.

Cost Benefit Analysis - The benefit analysis is what most organizations need to justify the purchase of a new system. This document includes financial and non-financial costs and benefits, risk assessment, and potential issues.
