St. Clair County Map Book Development

St. Clair County needs to periodically publish updates to their street map books without outside consulting fees and receive proceeds from the sale of the map books directly. BKI produced various data layers required for the production of standard street map books including county-wide landmarks, a map book grid system, named creeks, lakes and railroads, and miscellaneous geographic line features.  We then developed a set of map project files (MXD’s) with pre-formatted layouts required to produce all of the various pages of the map book.  An additional MXD was developed to produce a large-size foldout map of the County road network.  Finally, procedures were developed to guide the County step by step in producing map book updates on a periodic basis including the production of individual map book pages along with street index pages based on the current set of available road data.
