Bessemer Utility Data Migration, Cleansing and Conversion

BKI assisted the City of Bessemer in their ongoing efforts to improve their information systems by converting their two City-managed utility systems (water and electric) into a common GIS format based on the Jefferson County base map. This work involved converting old GIS shapefiles and CAD data into a geodatabase format, aligning the data to the aerial-based base map data from the County, correcting all of the drawing connectivity issues in both of the utility networks, and generating new map sheets for field crews to use.
