GIS Data Services

Data is the foundation of any computer system and can greatly impact how effective the system can be used to benefit the client. If users do not trust the information, the system will not be used. BKI understands the importance of data and employs multi-level quality control measures and automated computer procedures to produce the best quality data possible. BKI offers the following types of GIS Data Services:

Data Conversion - Raw mapping data comes in many forms from paper drawings to Computer Aided Drafting (CAD) files. BKI will take this data and convert it into a GIS format, inputting all the available spatial and attribute information from the source data.

Data Migration - Data residing in older database and GIS formats can be migrated to more modern technologies and mapping systems while retaining all its existing available information.

Data Development - BKI can take newly acquired data from aerial photography, GPS, and other methods and enhance or develop it into a usable GIS format.

Data Integration - Organizations often have data in many varying formats and structures such as spreadsheets, databases, CAD files, text files, GIS files, etc. BKI will develop a data model to integrate these varying data sources into a common format so they can be accessed through a common interface. This greatly enhances an organization's ability to share data and gain a holistic view of all available information.

Data Cleansing - A system is only as good as the data upon which it is founded. BKI uses extensive quality control methods to cleanse existing GIS data using source data provided by the client.
