I-12 to Bush Corridor Study

I-12 to Bush Corridor Study (Phase I & II)

In order to address traffic flow and safety problems on Louisiana Highways 21, 59, and 41 and on US 11, the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development hired BKI to serve as the lead consultant on a corridor study/Environmental Impact Statement for a four-lane divided highway from Bush, Louisiana, to I-12 in a triangular area bounded by routes LA 21, US 190, I-12, I-59 and LA 41. Phase I of the study evaluated demographic and economic patterns, existing conditions, and travel demand to asses the need for the highway, as well as the highway's environmental impacts, with municipalities, area industry representatives, and federal and state agencies affected by the project, and conducted a public involvement program. BKI also provided National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and Section 404 evaluation and documentation for the proposed project. During Phase II, BKI is identifying and evaluating feasible alternatives.
