36" Water Main
BKI was contracted to provide needed improvements to the water distribution system in Southeast Shreveport. This Phase of the project, Phase I, is for the construction of 23,791 L.F. (4.5 miles) of a 36" potable water transmission line to supply a proposed ground storage tank and pumping station (Phase III).
The proposed transmission line connects to an existing 36" water main at the intersection of Walker Road and Meriwether Road departing to the East. The majority of the alignment passes through existing urbanized areas and crosses under a state highway, an interstate highway and a Union Pacific Railroad. It also includes an aerial crossing over Brushy Bayou. The transmission line will terminate at the intersection of McCarey Street and St. Vincent Avenue.
BKI provided engineering design services for the project, prepared plans & specifications for construction and provided construction administration and resident inspection services.
