Hammond Major Street Plan

BKI was retained to develop a major street plan for the City of Hammond, Louisiana. This process included an analysis of existing conditions, as well as a review of future changes in land use and population. The future roadway network recommends additions to the system of arterials and collectors to accomodate the anticipated long-term demands. BKI managed data collection of roadway traffic volumes and peak-hour traffic volumes at high-demand locations. In addition, BKI collected a series of resource items for the City of Hammond to use in making amendments to current policies, regualtions and procedures. The general community was engaged in the process through a community open house meeting, community attitude survey on transportation and a follow-up public hearing.
