Jefferson Avenue Canal II: Dryades to Constance

Jefferson Avenue Canal II: Dryades to Constance

BKI was selected by the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, to design drainage canal improvements to the Jefferson Avenue Canal between Constance and Dryades Street in New Orleans under the Corps of Engineers Southeast Louisiana Urban Flood Control Program.

BKI designed the construction of a 8'x14' reinforced concrete box culvert, approximately 3,600 feet long. Existing drain lines were tied into the concrete culvert. The canal improvements required the temporary relocation of the streetcar tracks on St. Charles Avenue as well as numerous other subsurface utility relocations. BKI was also selected by the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, to provide engineering support services during construction.
