BKI Announces Promotions

December 17, 2009 - BKI ended 2009 with a round of promotions for nine key staff members in Louisiana and Alabama. Congratulations to the following:
Suresh I. Shah, PE, SECB - Senior Vice President and Assistant Chief Engineer - New Orleans, LA: Suresh has been with BKI since 1978. Previously, he served as Vice President in the Structural Engineering Division at BKI in charge of project management and the structural engineering personnel. He has 40 years of professional engineering experience and has provided consulting focused on a wide range of industrial structures. Suresh holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and a M.S. in Structural Engineering, and is a registered professional engineer in the states of Louisiana, Mississippi, Maryland, Texas and Florida.
Michael D. Chopin, PE - Regional Vice President - New Orleans, LA: Mike has been with BKI since 1988. Previously, he served as Vice President in the Civil Engineering Division at BKI in charge of project management and the civil engineering personnel. He has 18 years of professional engineering experience and has provided consulting focused on a wide range of public works projects. Mike holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering, and is a registered professional engineer in the states of Louisiana, Texas and Florida.
O. Jeffrey Wood, PE - Regional Vice President - Tuscaloosa, AL: Jeff has served as Vice President in charge of Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc.'s Alabama office since 1997. He has over 35 years of professional engineering and management experience, focused on municipal roadways, highways and bridges. Jeff is also a registered professional engineer in the states of Alabama and Tennessee.
Bruce L. Higginbotham, PE - Vice President - Tuscaloosa, AL: Bruce has been with BKI since 1998 and has over 13 years of professional experience coordinating projects between several government agencies and municipalities, including ADECA, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, and the Alabama Department of Transportation. He holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and is a registered professional engineer in the states of Alabama, Florida and Mississippi.
Mark K. Roberts, PE - Vice President - New Orleans, LA: Mark joined BKI in 1999 and has over 15 years of experience in all phases of project development from conceptual design to construction management. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering and an M.S. in Engineering Management, both from the University of New Orleans, is a registered professional engineer in the state of Louisiana and an active member of the Society of American Military Engineers and the American Society of Civil Engineers.
David E. Boyd, EI - Associate - New Orleans, LA: David is a Civil Engineer in BKI's Roadway and Drainage division. He holds a Bachelor's Degree from the University of New Orleans in Civil Engineering and is a registered Engineering Intern in Louisiana. Since 2005, Mr. Boyd has provided BKI's public and private clients with consulting engineering services for hydrology and flood control projects.
Eric J. Dallimore, EI - Associate - New Orleans, LA: Eric joined BKI in 2005. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Orleans and is a registered Engineering Intern in Louisiana. His project experience includes drainage design, levee and floodwall design, and roadway improvements.
David S. Hargrove, PE - Associate - Tuscaloosa, AL: Dave serves as an engineer at BKI's Tuscaloosa, Alabama office in the Structures Section. He has over 17 years of professional experience in the field and has provided professional consulting services to a number of public and private clients in the Midwest and Southeast regions. Dave holds a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and a M.S. degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in Structures and is a registered professional engineer in the states of Alabama, Florida, and Mississippi.
Timothy J. Koenig, EI - Associate - New Orleans, LA: Tim has served as a civil engineer at Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc. since 2004, focusing primarily on structural design. He holds a B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of New Orleans and is a registered Engineering Intern in Louisiana.
Craig P. Williams, PE - Associate - Tuscaloosa, AL: Craig joined Burk-Kleinpeter's Tuscaloosa office in 2000 as a civil engineer. He has a wealth of experience in roadway design. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Alabama and is a registered professional engineer in the State of Alabama.
