Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc. (BKI) has the manpower and the resources to handle the transportation planning and engineering needs of a diverse array of clients.  Our Planning Division has performed transportation planning projects throughout the Southeast United States for over 90 years.  Acting as an extension of our client’s staff, BKI’s planners, engineers, and environmental scientists introduce innovative, forward-looking strategies to solve transportation problems and plan future transportation routes. Our Traffic Engineers have also worked with numerous state agencies, counties/parishes, municipalities, special districts, corporations, and private developers offering an interrelated array of services, ranging from simple traffic counts, to full Interstate Interchange Justification studies and designs. Some projects include: both single intersection and coordinated systems signalization plans for State Departments of Transportation, trip generation studies for local developments, lane capacity/assignments and storage length determinations for highways and interstates, interstate interchange design for State Departments of Transportation, and preliminary traffic impacts analysis for an environmental assessment for local governments.
