Port Louis Development Port Louis is a unique waterfront community located on the north shore of Lake Pontchartrain. Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc. prepared the master plan, construction documents, construction administration, and state and federal permits for this development which has the character of a French sailing village. The design included a new, three-mile access road to the site located on the Northshore of Lake Pontchartrain, complete utility systems, roadways, drainage, channel and harbor dredging, bulkheads, piers and complete site development of a previously undeveloped parcel of land. Utility systems included a new potable water well, water distribution system, sewer collection system, on-site sewer treatment plant, and electrical and communications distribution conduits. The initial development of 52 townhouses had a boat slip with a floating pier adjacent to each unit.
