BURK-KLEINPETER, INC. was retained
to examine parking demand and management issues at
two branches of the Jefferson Parish Library: Old
Metairie and Lakeshore. BKI made recommendations
from the study which were also used at each of the
remaining branches in the Eastbank system (a total
of 7) including a newly proposed Eastbank Regional
Library.
BKI developed a series of improvements to general
parking area management based on analysis of
facility demands collected by survey and field
review of operational sites, zoning ordinance
standards, and facility site plans. Updates to
signage, parking area layouts, facility expansion,
and library policies concerning facility utilization
were all included as part of the final recommended
improvement program.
