Heritage Park at Robert's Landing

The City of Slidell commissioned Burk-Kleinpeter, Inc. to create a conceptual plan for improvements and safe public access to the 10.4 acre Robert's Landing and the neighboring 7.4-acre City of Slidell Barn site.

The Robert's Landing site is adjacent to the "Olde Town" Slidell area. BKI created three alternative conceptual Master Plans which acknowledged the site's history as an early mode of water transportation from Lake Pontchartrain to the City. The three themes included concepts focused upon recreation, mixed use development, and civic development.

The Recreation concept suggested a public, water-oriented facility related to Bayou Bonfouca and Olde Town Slidell. The Mixed-Use concept would provide commercial opportunities on site for public and private investment. The Civic Development concept placed City of Slidell civic functions at the center of the site.

Construction cost estimates for the recreational elements of each plan ranged from $4.0 million for the Mixed-Use and Civic Concepts to $4.1 million for the Recreation Concept.
