Lafourche Basin Levee District - Environmental Restoration Plan

BKI was contracted by the Lafourche Basin Levee District to develop a plan outlining restoration and mitigation requirements to mitigate the impacts on the Lafourche Basin Levee property from Texaco's oil and gas exploration and production-related activities.

The damages include the construction, use and closure of pits; land loss from canal dredging; construction, operation, maintenance, and removal of facilities; handling, disposal, storage, and transportation of produced oil and gas; and oilfield wastes on Levee District's property.

BKI assisted the District in the identification of all sites to be restored, assessed present and past environmental conditions, evaluated those conditions and formulated a plan to achieve target conditions. The firm then developed 1-year, 3-year, 5-year, and 10-year recovery assessment plans and a long-term maintenance, monitoring and mitigation plan.
