 Burk-Kleinpeter,
Inc. (BKI) was
contracted by Treasure Chest Casino to develop the
site for their riverboat gaming operation on Lake
Pontchartrain at Williams Boulevard.
BKI designed concrete roadways, a parking lot,
drainage, site utilities, a complete riverboat
mooring system with dolphins, harbor dredging, and
complete structural and mechanical design of the
riverboat entertainment terminal. The terminal is a
three-story, steel-frame building on a custom-made
steel barge in Lake Pontchartrain that houses a
floating entertainment facility with dining,
lounges, lobby, sales, and back-of-house offices.
The project included design plans and
specifications, construction administration and
resident inspection.
Construction cost was approximately $6 million.
