Burk-Kleinpeter,
Inc. (BKI) was contracted by Tuscaloosa County, Alabama to design a five-lane roadway to provide access to the newly constructed Tuscaloosa County High School.
The project consisted of the design of two additional access roads to the new school. The total length of the new roadway designed for the project was approximately 1.56 miles.
BKI designed the geometrics in coordination with an ongoing U.S. Highway 43 project being performed by Alabama Department of Transportation, as well as a future roadway extension on the western end of the Mitt Lary Road project. BKI performed all construction administration and inspection on the project.
The total construction cost was approximately $1.9 million.
