Burk-Kleinpeter,
Inc. (BKI) was contracted by the Jefferson
Parish Department of Public Works to
manage the construction of a new facility
to consolidate all wastewater treatment on
the east bank of Jefferson Parish.
The project was
constructed by four separate general
contractors, each working on a different
area of the plant site. BKI coordinated
the work of the four contractors and
provided general construction management.
BKI reviewed all shop drawings,
clarifications and design changes;
approved monthly contractors' invoices;
maintained a CPM construction schedule;
prepared contract change orders; and
provided full-time resident inspection,
material testing, and construction
close-out. As part of construction
close-out, BKI provided complete piping
and instrumentation diagrams of the
plant.
Construction cost
for the entire project was approximately
$60 million.
