Burk-Kleinpeter,
Inc. was retained by Boomtown Westbank
Casino to provide design and construction
administration services for the civil,
structural, and mechanical design of a
72,000-square foot family entertainment
complex.
The project included
paved parking for 1,100 vehicles, three
traffic signals, complete site utilities,
storm drainage and mooring dolphins. The
entertainment center included two complete
kitchens, three dining areas, a lounge
with a stage and bar service, a gift shop,
and a children's game room. Structural
design included the two-story building
frame analysis including long-span roof
trusses to provide clear space in the
first and second floor dining and lounge
areas and complete foundation design using
a composite-pile foundation system.
Mechanical design included complete HVAC
design for the two-story facility,
including ventilation for smoke removal in
dining and lounge areas, plumbing, and
kitchen ventilation systems.
The approximate cost
to construct the entire terminal was $35
million
