selected Burk-Kleinpeter as
Project/Construction Management Consultant
for the 140-acre theme park located in New
Orleans East.
The construction of
the amusement park included raising the
park's structures and walkways 3 feet
above the original grade of the land,
building 38 rides and over 100 other
structures, building a parking lot for
over 5,000 cars, and creating retention
ponds and a pumping station for storm
drainage. Construction of the entire
project cost approximately $80
million.
As
Project/Construction Management
Consultant, BKI ascertained that all
architectural, structural, civil,
mechanical and electrical design and
construction for the project occurred on
time and within budget. BKI developed
design criteria and standards, project
schedules, and construction budgets;
implemented a community awareness plan;
assisted Jazzland in applying for permits;
prepared bid documents; and provided
on-site construction administration and
technical review.
