Diamond Community Center

BURK-KLEINPETER, INC. was selected by the Plaquemines Parish Council to provide complete architectural services for the Diamond Community Center, including initial programming, schematic design, design development, contract documents and construction administration services.

The project consisted of design of a new 5,000-SF multi-purpose community center for lower Plaquemines Parish at the River. The community center was designed on a new site to serve the community's social needs and includes a large, 4,500-SF multi-purpose space, kitchen area, restrooms, storage areas and office space.

The Parish Council required that the project be cost-effective construction and that the building be durable and easy to maintain.

BKI also designed the site development, including drainage, sewerage and water supply and a parking area with spaces that meet ADA requirements.

The construction cost was approximately $400,000.
