BKI was selected by
the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New
Orleans District to design a 25,000 square
foot pre-engineered office building and
maintenance shop at the New Orleans
District Headquarters complex. The building consisted of a
pile-supported concrete foundation, a two-story
office facility with a complete HVAC system, and a
high-bay maintenance and shops area with an
overhead crane system designed for industrial floor
loading. The design included a rigid-frame
structure for moving crane loads and a mezzanine
addition for the second floor offices. HVAC
analysis was performed using commercial HVAC
software. The architectural treatment of the
building matched surrounding facilities at the
District Headquarters complex. The construction cost
approximately $2.2 million. |
